GROUP VISITS

We welcome group visits to the School and Museum, so please contact the School direct to discuss your party's requirements. The museum can take 20 people at one time but it is possible to arrange for split group visits. These visits are arranged to take place privately on days when we are closed to casual visitors or outside normal opening hours, including evenings.

We are ideally situated for visitors coming in to Edinburgh/Rosyth on Cruise ships. We are half an hour from Rosyth and will arrange transport on request. We are 15 minutes drive from Kirkcaldy Railway Station (and in 2024 Cameron Bridge Rail Station is due to open as part of the Levenmouth Rail Link, only 10 minutes away.)

Charges, and any donations, will be put towards the running costs of the School and a programme of conservation and repair of our collection of historic textiles and artefacts.

If your planned visit is during May, June and July you might like to visit the Wemyss Castle Gardens as well.  These stunning gardens, restored by Charlotte and Michael Wemyss since 1994, within the 18th century walls, are open (by appointment only) on weekdays during May, June & July only. All dogs are welcome on a lead. The gardens are, for the most part, wheelchair friendly with WC facilities suitable for the disabled.  To arrange a visit to the gardens please ring Charlotte on 01592-652181 but should you only hear the answer machine, do not leave a message but ring us at the School and we will make contact for you.

If you would like to take a picnic or artist materials to the gardens and stay all day, you are very welcome to do so.  The gardens are a mixture of formal and informal and notably have a large collection of bulbs, roses and above all clematis (the unofficial National Collection of Clematis Montana - at their best in May) which festoon the apple trees, walls and numerous metal structures. 

It has been suggested that Wemyss Castle Gardens is "one of the horticultural wonders of Scotland".

Spring has sprung ! Wemyss has a lovely collection of little flower kits: top left Clematis, top right Daisy, bottom left Crocus, bottom right Pansy and Tulips in the top. Individually they cost £28.50. They measure about 8" square (20cms)
